Turning GPU assist on or off may help, or it may make the problem worse - it's not something where turning off the feature puts things back to normal. Depending on the video format I've had display issues on both the timeline & in the 2 video windows, along with some problems encoding - while nowhere near as bad as the 1st build, with an ATI 6870 I still get occasional green frames displayed, & obviously if you can't see the video you can't edit it.

with Build 594 Sony Creative Software seems to have gotten a lot of the bugs worked out, but as the release notes point out, they had to temporarily disable some of the ATI GPU assist features to do that.

On the Plus side, that hardware assist works with ATI hardware - heading up the Minus column, with ATI graphics at least, that hardware assist may or may not work all that well, regardless whether you've got it turned on or off. The big news is that this pro-level, cheaper alternative to Adobe's Premiere Pro adds GPU acceleration with version 11. here's a little bit on what they don't tell you. Most of the good stuff you can read in their ad copy &/or adverts.

In the end, it’s all your choice.Running Vegas since what became the Pro version was in beta, I think it's a pretty cool, pretty complete & capable NLE, with great multi-track audio features to boot. In the end I do like Sony Vegas Pro 9 more, I don’t know if it’s because I am more costumed to it, but I truly think it’s faster at editing and does most of the functions of Final Cut without the rendering every video aspect. It’s an amazing editing software but if your not gonna tweak that much your videos I suggest sticking with Sony Vegas or even iMovie. For those who don’t know rendering is converting the video so you can view it, whether is in a timeline or the finishing product. Each time you put a video in the timeline you MUST render it before you can view it, this can take up a lot of editing time and interrupt your creative thoughts because you have to deal with the rendering. This comes at a steep cost, at least for me. You can do anything you could possibly imagine with the shot. You will probably need two monitors to edit because you might have more than 6-7 windows opened at the time when your editing and tweaking your scene. The user interface has a lot, a lott of windows but you can get costumed to them as you practice more and more. It’s basically the best in the business for all your editing needs.

In the end, the best you could get for a PC.įinal Cut Pro 7 is exclusively for Mac users only. Don’t be afraid of the million buttons, at the beginning you wont be using many of them. The user interface is very friendly and easy to navigate. This program let’s you do the basic functions of an editing software plus edit how the shot moves, the color, the music, sounds, etc. It costs about 500$ so it’s a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Sony Vegas Pro 9 is a very good editing program, probably the best you can get on a PC.

I won’t include freeware editing softares nor Windows Movie Maker and iMovie since I personally like to be able to tweak and edit more in depth and these programs don’t allow me to do that. I have both programs, and both are extremely good. So I am writing a small review on what I consider the best editing software could be for people who are interested in that sort of things, like me.

Well as most of you know…I think…I love movies…and I plan on becoming a director in the future, hopefully.
