She may even aspire to take over completely, which means that Odette will have to be expelled at some point. It is possible that although Odette has not exhibited any malevolent takeover vibes, she may be getting comfortable in George’s body. George must be fighting to remain conscious and in control of herself. However, George whispering to herself, “I’m still here,” at the end of “The Riddle of the Broken Doll,” signifies that she is aware of a struggle to remain present in her body. She doesn’t seem to know that Odette is to blame for everything she’s experiencing. However, deciphering what’s going on will not be as easy as asking George. George is also exhibiting strange behavior, using foreign oil, singing French songs, and blacking out. Not as a sea spirit in fish-like form but as the ghost of the woman who was once alive. We witness this as soon as George looks in a mirror, and we see Odette follow behind her.
Somehow, Odette Lamar’s was able to tether herself to George. While the magic that took place during Nancy’s final standoff with the Aglaeca banished the sea spirit portion, the woman behind it all is still present. What’s more, Nancy and friends may believe that they’ve seen the last of the sea spirit but that’s not entirely true.
